Wonderful article on Isaac Stern. Thank you. Many of us have wondered who will take up the batons (pardon the pun) left by Stern and Bernstein. Their willingness to fight the good fight, indeed their delight in the battle, does not seem to be part of any of today's younger musical leaders. But the need for that level of passion and leadership is the more needed because both men opened our eyes to the possibilities and showed us the nature of the enemy. There is a great deal more to be done, and thank you for the reminder.
