Shedding a Little Light

Regarding the Lang Lang review on Jan. 23: Mr. Leikin commented on the long delay the pianist took prior to the Schumann piece. It was apparent to us, from where we were sitting, near the stage, that what was distracting Mr. Lang was not the lights but the reason the lights were turned up — namely, to let in the crowd of latecomers who flooded into the hall after the first piece. He was simply waiting for them to get seated and quiet down.

Classical Music and Longevity

Thank you for the fabulous tribute to Sandor Salgo on Jan. 23: What a fabulous article! I knew classical music and longevity somehow went together! I was born on Toscanini's birthday.
