A recent transplant from Seattle, Full Lyric Soprano Sarah Fletcher is quickly gaining stature as a prominent singer in the West Coast region. With an education from the University of Puget Sound, Sarah has also studied and performed in Europe with the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. Described by Crosscut magazine as “… a far darker soprano, like steamy coffee stirred with a dollop of cream”, Sarah has been featured in roles and staged scenes such as ‘Countess’ in Marriage of Figaro, 'Mimi' in La Boheme, and ‘Liu’ in Turandot. In addition, she has been a featured soloist in concert halls and cathedrals throughout the U.S., performing solos in works such as Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Handel’s Messiah, and Rutter’s Requiem.
Recently awarded a 2013 Young Artist Grant through the Seattle Opera Guild, and winner of the 2010 Michael Mitchell award for Vocal performance, Sarah has performed most recently for the Seattle/Nante Sister City Association's Annual French Pique Nique as a featured soloist. She has also performed with the Northwest’s Watershed Opera as ‘Tosca’ and as ‘Maris’ in a world premier new work opera, Missing, by Jordan Corbin Wentworth. She was featured as a solo performer in the Grand Opening of Seattle's Museum of History and Industry, enjoyed singing in the Turandot and Fidelio ensembles with Seattle Opera fall of 2012, and recently performed with the Seattle Opera Guild's scenes production of Suor Angelica in the title role. Under currant tutelage of Sheri Greenawald of San Francisco Opera, Ms. Fletcher is looking forward to performing this August 2014 in Seattle Opera's Celebration Concert in honor of the outgoing and much beloved General Director, Speight Jenkins.
Sarah is available for performances and voice lessons in the Bay Area beginning in July of 2014. Please contact for further information regarding pricing and availability!
