Volti : The Not-the Messiah December Choral Concert
With tongue only slightly in cheek (because it’s really hard to sing that way), Volti kicks off the December Choral Concert Marathon with alternative ways of celebrating the love and spirituality of the season. A new commission from Puerto Rico-born composer Armando Bayolo anchors the program. Bayolo's "Cancionero Amoroso" is a collection of five gorgeous love songs, each in a different language and style. Volti will also sing encore performances of past audience favorites: Stacy Garrop’s beautiful "Songs of Lowly Life" and Shawn Crouch’s stunning "The Garden of Paradise," along with works by David Shapiro and Charles Halka.
