The Bay Area Summer Opera Theater Institute Presents an evening of opera scenes. Come enjoy an evening of Operatic scenes from favorite operas such as Aida, Marriage of Figaro, Fledermaus and more, featuring the many students, conductors, and directors at BASOTI. The Opera Scenes Program is a collage of scenes from various composers that will range from tragic to comedic, romantic to whimsical. These staged scenes will be in many languages all narrated and explained to provide the audience with context.
BASOTI is pleased to introduce Yefim Maizel, Guest Stage Director with the Metropolitan Opera in New York, as our new Artistic Director. Mr. Maizel heads BASOTI’s newest season of performances with a talented group of emerging opera talent from around the country. Join us for our summer season June 28th – August 1.
