The Magic Flute may be the most beloved of all Mozart's operas. It combines a profound exploration of our longing for universal harmony with unforgettable characters, gorgeous music, humor, and (of course) a magic flute. Prince Tamino undergoes trials to win the hand of his true love, Pamina. One of the greatest characters in opera, the Queen of the Night, tries to foil true love and the forces of good. It is a classic tale that audiences of all ages will enjoy.
BASOTI is an intensive summer program designed to meet singers where they are in their careers and take them to the next level. We are pleased to introduce Yefim Maizel, Guest Stage Director with the Metropolitan Opera in New York, as our new Artistic Director. Mr. Maizel heads BASOTI’s newest season of performances with a talented group of emerging opera talent from around the country. Join us for our summer season June 28th – August 1.
