Benefit Recital for Milly Rosner: Three Centuries of Cello & Piano Music

Benefit Recital for Milly Rosner: Three Centuries of Cello & Piano Music

Cellist Mary Artmann and Pianist Miles Graber celebrate their association with the well-known Bay Area cello teacher Milly Rosner in a Benefit Recital in her honor. Artmann, a former student of Milly's, has recently returned to the Bay Area after 20 years. Previously, she was a member of the award-winning Veronika String Quarter, Artists in Residence at Colorado State University-Pueblo. Graber is a highly sought after collaborative pianist who has worked with many of Milly's students over the past thirty years. Artmann and Graber first played together in 1982, and are thrilled to have this opportunity to perform together again. The program features Sonatas for cello and piano spanning three centuries. The program includes the Sonata for Viola da Gamba in G major, No. 1, BWV 1027, by Johann Sebastian Bach, Mendelssohn's exuberant Sonata in D major, Op. 58, and Prokofiev's lyrical Sonata in C major, Op. 119.
