Music heralds life’s milestones. Finnish composer Sibelius celebrated his 50th birthday in 1915 with the premiere of his Symphony No. 5. The jubilant work is paired with Lei Liang’s tender and refreshing work, inspired by the birth of his son. Acclaimed pianist Sarah Cahill performs Lou Harrison’s Piano Concerto. Written for the jazz and classical crossover artist Keith Jarrett, this exuberant work promises to pique its listeners’ imagination. Guest conductor Jayce Ogren leads the orchestra on this night filled with the music of commemoration!
