Bernal Hill Players San Francisco: In and About the City

The Bernal Hill Players present 'San Francisco: In and About the City', an evening of new music by local composers about neighborhoods of San Francisco. Featuring composers Chus Alonso, Beth Custer, Loren Jones, Peter Josheff, Erik Pearson, and Katrina Wreede, writing about Bernal Heights, The Mission District, Ocean Beach, Fort Funston, Sutro Tower, China Basin, and the Financial District.

The Bernal Hill Players is an adventurous and eclectic professional chamber music ensemble conceived in 2008 by San Francisco Community Music Center faculty members Jennifer Peringer on piano and percussion, Martha Rodríguez-Salazar on flute and voice, and Leah diTullio on clarinet.

This concert is free, as part of the San Francisco Community Music Center's Shenson Concert Series. The commission of Peter Josheff's piece Sutro Tower in the Fog was funded by San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music's Music Grant Program. The commission of Episodes in China Basin by Katrina Wreede, With the Birds Above Fort Funston by Erik Pearson, and Suite de los Barrios, by Chus Alonso were made possible through Subito, the quick advancement program of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the American Composer's Forum.
