Recital.
Among the most inventive and adventurous pianists performing today, Nicolas Hodges brings to the stage signature insights into the music of our time and of the past with a program combining the work of a modern master, Stockhausen, with the mighty Hammerklavier Sonata of Beethoven. A prolific recording artist, Hodges has released more than 20 CDs, many showcasing his favorite modern composers. He made a memorable debut with the San Francisco Symphony in January 2010, and Cal Performances welcomes him in his West Coast recital debut. "Hodges' recitals always boldly go where few other pianists dare...with an energy that sometimes defies belief" (The Guardian, London).
Program: Beethoven: Piano Sonata Op. 106, Hammerklavier · Stockhausen: Klavierstück X
