Please join as we celebrate Classical Revolution's 4 year Anniversary featuring these 2 very different string quartets who are both on the cutting edge of the alt-classical movement.

Renowned for bringing fresh excitement to traditional string quartet repertoire, as well as for creating insightful interpretations of new music, the Chiara Quartet captivates and enthralls audiences throughout the country. Over its first decade, the Chiara has established itself as among America’s most respected ensembles, lauded for its “highly virtuosic, edge-of-the-seat playing” (The Boston Globe). The Chiara Quartet (Rebecca Fischer, Julie Yoon violin; Jonah Sirota, viola; Gregory Beaver, cello) has forged a new path for the string quartet medium. In the concert hall and in intimate galleries and clubs, the Chiara embraces a "no-holds-barred" approach to their performances (The Strad).

Quartet Rouge is an all girl band comprised of two violins, viola and cello. They create original arrangements of pop, rock, hip hop, metal and funk tunes. Morphing their 18th-century instruments into drums, bass, guitar and voice, Quartet Rouge stuns audiences with their signature groove. They have performed with a variety of popular acts, including Green Day, Mary J Blige, Jay-Z, Donna Summer and Devotchka.

Classical Revolution was founded in November 2006 when several former and current San Francisco Conservatory of Music students met at Revolution Cafe in San Francisco's Mission District for public chamber music reading sessions.
Classical Revolution has presented chamber music events in venues all around the Bay Area, with the goal of presenting high quality performances in locations that are accessible to as many people as possible.
The concept has spread to other cities, with chapters and offshoots currently active in Portland, Reno, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Berlin, Cincinnati, Ann Arbor, Cleveland, Belgrade, Madison, Montreal, Toronto, South Florida, and Washington DC.
