This program begins IQ’s survey of the six stunning quartet’s in Haydn’s Opus 50, to be performed over the course of the next three seasons. Reveling in the unfamiliar, the quartet has programmed composer Dane Rudhyar (1895-1985); expert astrologer, writer, painter, thinker and composer. Noted music critic Nicolas Slonimisky describes Rudhyar’s music as “searching and challenging…the explanation of a puzzle of human experience.” Internationally acclaimed pianist, Gwendolyn Mok, joins the Ives Quartet to perform Schumann's captivating Piano Quintet in E-flat Major.
