Founded by choreographer and former New York City Ballet principal dancer Benjamin Millepied, the L.A. Dance Project exists as a true “art collective.” Often praised for his stylishness and craft, Millepied presents a premiere of a new work with a new score by Nico Muhly and visual design by noted New York painter Christopher Wool. True to its mission, the troupe will also present two pieces from the canon of modern dance: Merce Cunningham’s Winterbranch, an exploration in falling and William Forsythe’s study in hope and loss, Quintett.
