Works by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Toru Takemitsu, Lou Harrison, Peter Maxwell Davies, Leo Brouwer and Benjamin Britten.
Although not immediately apparent, the guitar plays roles in most strands of twentieth-century art and popular music—solo and in ensemble, from Stravinsky to Terry Riley and from the Beatles to Andres Segovia. Italian guitarist Giacomo Fiore would like to invite you to follow one of the many threads running along the instrument's recent history, and crossing over musical languages as well as cultures. The program will feature works by Britten, Brouwer, Davies, Harrison, Takemitsu and Villa-Lobos, all inspired by popular traditions across the world. http://www.giacomofiore.com/
