We are very much looking forward to our first concert with all ZOFO-commissioned works on January 25th at Old First Church, San Francisco. This is what we dreamed of doing since we came together as an ensemble: expanding the quite limited contemporary one-piano-four-hands repertoire by commissioning new works each year. After three years of existence as ZOFO we finally can harvest the first fruit of our mission: to present a concert with works that have all been written or arranged for us! The program will include commissioned pieces by Gabriela Lena Frank, Allen Shawn, and Stephan Cwik, along with arrangements for ZOFO by Nicholas Pavkovic and Keisuke Nakagoshi. A big thank you goes to the Van Dyke Family Foundation for sponsoring Gabriela Frank's piece. Many thanks also to our personal donors for making Allen Shawn's piece possible.
