PBO is thrilled to welcome back early music specialist Jordi Savall in March to play and conduct a concert of French Baroque music. Savall performs on viola da gamba in Telemann’s Suite for Viola da gamba and Strings in D major, one of the rare works that features this solo instrument with an orchestra. Also on the program is a suite compiled by Savall of George Frideric Handel’s “Water Musics,” Jean-Baptiste Lully’s Alceste and music for a ballet by Guillaume Dumanoir.
