21 year old pianist Lawrence Holmefjord-Sarabi is returning home to Northern California for the start of his major debut world tour. Lawrence has prepared an extensive repertoire including selections from Grieg, Beethoven, Brahms, Debussy, Stravinsky & Balakirev. He currently studies performance at the Yong-Siew-Toh Conservatory in Singapore, where he was the first American pianist ever accepted in the school's history. Lawrence was also awarded two of the top prizes at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music National Concerto Competition and is the very first American in the history of the competition to become both a finalist and prize winner.
His performance of the Bartok 2nd piano concerto received enthusiastic reviews: "It is not everyday one gets to hear Bartok's thorny Second Piano Concerto, and one played with such finesse and ferocity as the American Lawrence Holmeford-Sarabi." Review by Straits Times on 11/10/11, titled “Touching Hearts with Finesse and Ferocity"
