This concert is presented as part of a three week long Festival, "The Birth of Expressionism," anchored by the Eugene O'Neill play, "The Hairy Ape." We'll present the best of Weill, whose mastery of the Expressionist style enraged the Nazi censors. After fleeing to America, he adapted the form and composed many popular operas, musicals and films with the best lyricists. The quartet of singers will be accompanied by Gary Neuman at the piano.
