Come to a free screening of San Francisco Opera's "The Girl of the Golden West For Families!"
Puccini’s "The Girl of the Golden West" is the opera version of a classic Western—we meet a crafty criminal, a suspicious sheriff and a frontier woman with a tender heart who knows how to shoot a gun. The dramatic love triangle is set in California during the Gold Rush.
Created from San Francisco Opera’s performance of "The Girl of the Golden West" in 2010, this one hour movie is a perfect way for families to learn about the magic of opera. The Company’s education department produced the movie version for Bay Area school and community programs. The performance is in Italian, with English subtitles and is recommended for ages 8 and up.
Advance registration is not required for this free event. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open 30 minutes before each screening.
