At the age of four, Julie Albers put down the violin and picked up the cello—a decision much appreciated by cello-lovers everywhere. Her major orchestral debut was quickly followed by breathless reviews: “…her flawless playing included a virtuosic cadenza to the first movement…and a glimpse of heaven in the second….” Julie Albers’ much lauded debut album features works by Beethoven and Rachmaninoff, both of whom are included in this program.
