The Takács is one of the world’s premiere string quartets, whose dazzling performances have astounded audiences since 1975. Founded in Hungary, this is the Quartet’s first appearance in San Francisco in over two decades, and their first with newest member — former SF Symphony principal violist — Geraldine Walther. The Quartet maintains a special connection to the music of Hungary, and the brilliant, folk-inflected quartets of Bartok are always a high point of their programs.
