San Francisco Performances Trio Cavatina

2009 Naumberg Competition Winner

Trio Cavatina is rapidly emerging as one of today’s outstanding chamber ensembles. Deeply rooted in a strong sense of shared musical values, Harumi Rhodes, violin, Priscilla Lee, cello and Ieva Jokubaviciute, piano met and formed Trio Cavatina 2005 during the renowned Marlboro Music Festival. The Trio will make its Carnegie Hall debut in May 2010 with the world premiere of a composition to be written for them by Richard Danielpour. They will also make their Philadelphia debut next season as one of the youngest ensembles to perform on the prestigious Philadelphia Chamber Music Society concert series. In addition to the classical and romantic repertoire, Trio Cavatina is committed to collaborating with living composers and to performing 20th century repertoire. They have worked closely with American composer Leon Kirchner who is to compose his third piano trio for them. This performance marks their San Francisco debut.
