San Francisco Symphony Arabella Steinbacher plays Tchaikovsky

The vibrant violinist Arabella Steinbacher returns to the SFS, performing Tchaikovsky’s fiery and firework-filled Violin Concerto under the baton of the esteemed Charles Dutoit. Bartók’s brilliant Concerto for Orchestra is written not for a particular solo instrument but treats the entire orchestra as soloists. The Concerto for Orchestra has been a staple of the orchestral repertoire since its premiere in 1944, and Dutoit’s interpretation of it has been called “electrifying” and “impeccable” (Gramophone)
