San Francisco Symphony Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Riccardo Muti

The San Francisco Symphony Presents American Orchestras
Along with Mason Bates, Anna Clyne is a Mead Composer-in-Residence with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Her compositions reflect an interest in both acoustic and electro-acoustic mediums, which one hears in this newly commissioned work for the ensemble. Additionally, two pieces by Schubert are on the program, including his Symphony No. 9, nicknamed "The Great" C major Symphony to indicate its majesty, and a selection from the inspiring incidental music to the play Rosamunde.
