Composers often write some of their finest works toward the end of their careers and this program highlights two such examples. Rinaldo Alessandrini, conducting the SFS for the first time, leads Haydn’s stirring 104th Symphony, the last of the “London” symphonies. And Mozart’s sparkling Symphony No. 39 marks the pinnacle of his illustrious compositional output. Rounding out the program is Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 25, considered one of his finest concertos, with soloist Olivier Cavé in his SFS debut.
