San Francisco Symphony San Francisco Symphony: Joshua Bell plays Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1

Acclaimed conductor James Conlon leads the Orchestra in a riveting tour de force of late Romantic masterworks, beginning with the magisterial Prelude to Act I of Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. Max Bruch’s greatest creation, the First Violin Concerto, spotlights superstar virtuoso Joshua Bell. The second half of the program belongs to Dvořák, whose trilogy of orchestral overtures (originally titled Nature, Life, and Love) captures the dramatic genius of the composer’s symphonic language.
