“Free summertime concerts performed by talented young musicians.” It sounds just wonderful, doesn’t it? The Young Musicians Program invites you to enjoy their Annual Summer Concert and Recital Series, performed by the talented young students of this award-winning program. Joining YMP’s young students will be esteemed guest artists, including Metropolitan Opera tenor Rodrick Dixon (of the famed “Three Mo’ Tenors”), vocalist and pianist Patrice Rushen, violinist Axel Strauss, trumpeter Omar Lateef, and conductors Reed Criddle, Rubén Capriles, and Ndugu Chancler.

In our final concert, the YMP String Orchestra will feature solos, small ensembles, and the return of The Grand Terrace Ballroom Show, featuring Patrice Rushen, 2010 Earl ‘Fatha’ Hines Fellow. Starring Elena Pinderhughes as Sarah Vaughn; Adam Green as Billie Eckstein; De’Sean Jones as Charlie ‘Yardbird’ Parker; and Marshall Hooper as Louis ‘Satchmo’ Armstrong.
