Kaitlin Miller

Presented by Old First Concerts

Kaitlin Miller finds boundless joy in playing the harp and sharing her deep affection for the instrument with her community. At the tender age of three, her love for the harp was first kindled by an interview with a harpist presented among the bonus features of Barbie of Swan Lake. Kaitlin’s first lesson with Dr. Kathy Moore at the age of ten further ignited her enduring passion for the harp.

She is currently an active musician in the Los Angeles area performing in orchestral, chamber, and solo settings. Her heart resonates most with romantic French music and the innovative compositions of contemporary artists. In her orchestral pursuits, Kaitlin has performed with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Pacific Symphony, and American Youth Symphony.

Kaitlin’s achievements include winning the 2019 AHS in Dallas Scholarship Competition and the 2020 Anne Adams Awards Competition. Her dedication was further rewarded with fellowships at the Music Academy of the West in both 2022 and 2023. Distinguished as the Young Professional Division winner of the AHS National Competition, Kaitlin now stands as the Concert Artist for 2023-2025. This prestigious role enables her to share her artistry through nationwide masterclasses and captivating recitals.

She earned a bachelor's degree in music theory and harp performance from the University of North Texas with Dr. Jaymee Haefner, and a master’s degree from the University of Southern California with JoAnn Turovsky, where she is continuing to pursue a Doctorate in Musical Arts. Beyond her musical endeavors, Kaitlin cherishes moments outdoors, connecting with nature, and sharing laughter with friends at her favorite local coffee shop.
