About Last Night (Terry Teachout)
Terry Teachout curates this blog that brings together the musings of arts critics in NYC, Chicago and elsewhere. The postings are eclectic to say the least. Terry writes 95% of them so the focus tends to be on NYC scene. Each of the authors regularly offer their suggestions on where to spend your entertainment dollar in their respective cities. In addition they are not above a little facebook-esque fun to crack each other up.
Classical Life by Tim Mangan
Tim Mangan at the Orange County Register offers various short news and errata (and occasional silliness) to compliment his official posts as an arts critic.
Classical Musing (Andrew Druckenbrod)
Andrew Druckenbrod covers classical music for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Anything is fair game and the majority of posts relate to classical music news from all over the world.
Classical WETA (Jens Laurson)
Jens Laurson is the critic at large for WETA 90.9 FM in Washington D.C. Considering the amount of time and care that goes into each post, he is writing at a furious rate. Each one is a thorough examination of the topic, be it a CD release, historical figure or simply coming attractions.
Deceptively Simple (Marc Geelhoed)
Marc Geelhoed writes about music, art, culture and events in Chicago from his perspective as administer of the Chicago Symphony's in house record label, CSO.
ionarts
ionarts pools the work of multiple arts writers in Washington DC. One of the attractions of the blog is its comprehensive calendar of classical music event in the DC area. It's certainly worth a look if you are planning a visit.
Jessica Duchen's Classical Music Blog
The name says it all. Jessica Duchen is a novelist and journalist living in London and writing for the Independent. Here she shares her experiences with classical music, be that at the concert hall or listening at home.
Monotonous Forest (Bruce Hodges)
Bruce Hodges writes about his experiences at concerts in New York (and occasionally beyond). Posts often link to his freelance reviews sprinkled throughout the web.
Night After Night (Steve Smith)
New York Times critic Steve Smith offers listening suggestions, and shines a light on some of his favorite musical events in New York City. The majority of postings, however are links to the reviews he writes for his day job.
Out West Arts
Our West Arts offers reviews of concerts in Los Angeles. The range of posts often extends outside the purely classical realm to include theater, musicals and other performances that the other (Brian) deems worthy.
