Superstar soprano Renée Fleming has announced her retirement from staged opera, according to an April 5, 2017, story by Charles McGrath in The New York Times. Fleming will wrap her career in formal staged opera with a final performance as Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier at the Metropolitan Opera on May 13.
