Celli@Berkeley

A young and passionate group dedicated to dynamic performances in concert halls and alternative environments, CELLI@BERKELEY is a chamber ensemble made up of members of the UC Berkeley Symphony Orchestra cello section and cellists in the UC Berkeley student community. Much like UCBSO, Celli@Berkeley consists of members involved in multiple academic fields. Current members represent fields of study including History, Society & Environment, Integrated Biology, Chemistry, and Peace & Conflict Studies, as well as multiple graduate students.

Celli@Berkeley has performed modern works by composers in the Bay Area such as Michael Nicholas, Daniel Leo, and Anica Galindo - and most recently premiered UC Berkeley alumnus Jared Redmond's "Deep Song for 12 Cellos and Soprano" in May 2014. On sunny days, Celli@Berkeley can be heard performing pop arrangements on the UC Berkeley campus near Sather Gate as CelliPOP.
