Real and Classical Revolution

Classical Revolution

Classical Revolution, the chamber group that fearlessly brings classics to unconventional venues, is not resting up after Sunday's gig at the Crowden School. On Oct. 19, the group will play at Yoshi's in San Francisco with the Real Vocal String Quartet, a group that often plays American folk, and adds the musicians voices to the mix. The CR Quartet will plays parts of quartets by Debussy and Brahms.

That's in addition to ongoing series at Revolution Cafe (3248 22nd Street, S.F.) on Monday nights, and at SoCha Cafe (3235 Mission Street, S.F.) on Wednesday nights. Coming this week at the SoCha: Okho by Iannis Xenakis, for djembe trio. Don't know what a djembe is? That's a good reason to show up.
