Lara Downes and Build

Here's Lara Downes, piano, playing Michael Sahl's "Tango" from Exiles' Cafe, off of her album of the same name. She plays at the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts on March 23rd. Pieces of the album will be on the concert.

Lara will be joined by the Brooklyn-based band Build. Led by composer/ violinist Matt McBane, the group features minimalist grooves and rock beats, overlaid with slowly developing melodic lines. In this just-released performance video of "Ride" you can hear what the group is all about.
