Reason For Four Seasons to Celebrate

Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra
By Michael Zwiebach

She's not a household name, but Elizabeth Blumenstock is a world class violinist who has been wowing Bay Area early music lovers for years.

So when she and the Philharmonia Baroque take on Vivaldi's Four Seasons, it's time to declare a holiday and take the kids.

As it happens, the PBO have thoughtfully scheduled a family concert this weekend focusing on just two of the concertos (4 p.m., Nov. 6 at First Congregational Church in Berkeley).

Tickets may be hard to come by, though.

Michael Zwiebach is the senior editor/ content manager for SFCV. He assigns all articles and content, manages the writing staff and does editing. A member of SFCV from the beginning, Michael holds a Ph.D. in music history from the University of California, Berkeley.
