Bach, Biber and Buxtehude

Voices of Music
By Michael Zwiebach

Bach, Biber and BuxtehudeThe three Bs of the German Baroque – Bach, Biber, and Buxtehude, are back for more madcap adventures when Ignaz’s violin is found in Anna Magdalene’s bedroom! Johann Sebastian is furious …

OK, this is just a decorous early-music concert, but it features the marvelous soprano Laura Heimes, trumpeter-extraordinaire John Thiessen, and the crew from Voices of Music, faves of SFCV and famed already for their widely-viewed YouTube and Vimeo channels. They’ll be airing the “Air on the G-String”, the cantata Jauchzet Gott, and Biber’s Trumpet Sonata, among other Baroque hits. Reasons enough to go, even if you have to miss that Three Stooges festival on T.V.

Michael Zwiebach is the senior editor/ content manager for SFCV. He assigns all articles and content, manages the writing staff and does editing. A member of SFCV from the beginning, Michael holds a Ph.D. in music history from the University of California, Berkeley.
