LIVERMORE, CALIF.  – Join Livermore Valley Opera for its ever-popular Opera in the Vineyard events at Retzlaff Vineyards, the site which has hosted the event for over 20 years.  Enjoy a summer evening of opera and Broadway favorites in a relaxed, casual setting nestled among the vines.  These events always sell out and tickets are on sale now for both summer events, each with its own unique musical program.  Details are as follows:

Opera in the Vineyard - July

Sunday, July 17; gate opens 5:00 pm

Opera in the Vineyard – August

Sunday, August 28; gate opens 5:00 pm

Retzlaff Vineyards

1356 South Livermore Avenue, Livermore

Retzlaff is eager to welcome visitors to its beautiful outdoor venue surrounded by hundred years-old pepper trees and lovely vineyards. It offers a chance for the community to enjoy arias from classic operas in an informal setting.  It is a “bring-your-own-picnic dinner” event where guests can purchase the wines of Retzlaff Vineyards while enjoying performances by professional opera singers.

"Opera in the Vineyard has always been a popular LVO event that has created a wonderful community of music lovers,” says Raquel Holt, event chair and LVO founder and board member.  “We are so excited that we can come together again to enjoy unique performances of opera arias, show tunes and maybe even a little cabaret. You will not want to miss it."

The July event features three of LVO’s favorite performers, tenor Alex Boyer, soprano Liisa Dávila and bass Kirk Eichelberger.  Making her debut with LVO is mezzo soprano Kathleen Moss.  Accompanying the performers is pianist Varvara Milinder. Performers for the August event will be announced in the coming months.

“It is always wonderful to see our guests enjoying themselves in an informal, casual event as they listen to beautiful arias being performed by LVO's favorite and talented singers,” adds Holt.  “Our guests take out a spread of delectable culinary delights to share, and to hear the clinking of wine glasses as they happily make a toast to each other is a delight to see.”

Once again, LVO will offer the extremely popular “Arias a la carte” portion of the program when guests have the opportunity to purchase songs from a “menu of delectable arias” for the singers to perform at the purchaser’s table or seating area.
