The Marin Music Chest provided grants totaling $11,250 to four Marin music organizations at the end of last year.
Grant funds are intended for scholarships for those who unable to cover the expense of participation. Organizations receiving the 2012 grants were Choral Singers of Marin, Marin Youth Symphony, Marin Girls Chorus, and the Music Teachers' Association of California Foundation.
The Marin Music Chest was founded in 1933 with the mission of bringing well-known artists to Marin and to award annual music scholarships to young, talented Marin County musicians. Marin Music Chest will present its own 2013 scholarship awards to Marin students of classical music at its annual concert on April 28, in San Domenico School in San Anselmo.
