Auditions for Exciting New Chamber Chorus - AfterGlow ChorusAfterGlow Chorus
Posted: August 19, 2019
AfterGlow Chorus is always looking out for talented, experienced singers interested in performing in a high-quality, chamber choir. Our singers come from a variety of backgrounds and ages. Many of the singers have studied music at a conservatory or sung in choirs and other vocal ensembles in college. This select, auditioned group of 24 singers has come together to perform a broad range of pieces across genres at the a high level of musicianship and quality.
Unlike most other choruses, AfterGlow rehearses in intensive, 3-week sprints right before each concert. Prior to the first rehearsal, singers study and practice their music on their own.
Auditions are currently being scheduled for our next concert on November 17, 2019 called "Thanks and Gratitude."
The diverse and fun concert program includes a wide range of composers and genres, including Brahms, spirituals, Rene Clausen, Randall Thompson, Stephen Paulus, Jake Runstead, Ray Charles, and Joe Cocker. Here is a YouTube playlist of the program: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnE86lFUbkuii_-DNXYX3vDT4A8DODnV2
For the audition, you will be asked to sing any a cappella song of your choosing. There will also be some vocalizing and sight singing.
Unlike many other choirs, there are no fees or tuition to sing in the chorus.
