auditions for all voice parts for Chora Nova

Come for Messiah, stay for the other wonderful things! Chora Nova will perform Handel's beloved Messiah in November; then on to the inspired silliness of Gilbert and Sullivan in March; and finally Saint-Saens' Requiem and Poulenc's Gloria in May.

Chora Nova, directed by Paul Flight, is a dynamic community of singers based in Berkeley, California. The group presents three programs each year, with performances in November, March, and May. The group's varied repertoire has included Western music, both familiar and rarely performed, from the seventeenth through the twentieth centuries: Vivaldi and Zelenka, Mozart and Michael Haydn, Brahms and Hummel, Britten and Coleridge-Taylor.

We are an auditioned chorus that draws experienced singers from around the Bay Area.

We rehearse from 7:15-9:45 on Tuesday evenings in north Berkeley. First rehearsal this season is September 4.
