Mill Valley Philharmonic seeks violas

We are expanding our viola section - and we're a wonderful, congenial group!
Rehearsals begin Sept. 16 and continue on Wednesday evenings in Mill Valley through performances, November 13, 14 and 15.
Brahms Symphony no. 3, plus Debussy's Nuages from Nocturnes, and more water related music. We are contributing musically to drought awareness, and Marin Municipal Water District will be telling stories about water conservation.

Over sixteen years we’ve grown from a "start up" to an established member of the Marin community. We proudly celebrate our 16th season of bringing free orchestral concerts to people in their own communities. MVP has been recognized both locally and nationally: in 2006, director Laurie Cohen received the Creative Achievement Award from the Mill Valley Arts Commission; the orchestra received the MetLife/American Symphony Orchestra League award for Community Engagement, also in 2006. In 2009, Cohen received a Distinguished Alumna Award from Berklee College of Music in the area of service to the community.

The mission of Mill Valley Philharmonic is to enrich the cultural life of the Bay Area by offering free orchestral programs to people of all ages and means in their own communities. As an organization, we believe that music is a vital part of individual and community life. Whether participating as a player or as a listener, music engages our imaginative powers, awakens our aesthetic sensibilities, and inspires our creative expression.
