405 Shrader Eight Strings & a Whistle

Eight Strings & a Whistle is a NYC based ensemble that explores four centuries of music for the flute, viola and cello. This rare combination of instruments creates unique and entertaining colors in old and new repertory. Eight Strings & a Whistle performs frequently in New York City, has appeared at the Festival of Contemporary Music in Havana, Cuba and on series at Tulane University, Skidmore College, and the campuses of University of Maine at Fort Kent and Presque Isle, to name a few.

This evening's program will include works composed for Eight Strings & a Whistle by two Bay Area composers, Martin Rokeach and Mark Winges, as well as Schubert, Tom Flaherty and Stanley Grill. For more information about Eight Strings & a Whistle please visit

405 Shrader is San Francisco intimate concert hall in the Haight (44 seats). These aperitif concerts are are just under one hour in length. A glass of wine is offered, and following the concert you may wish to greet the artists. For more information:
