Berkeley Chamber Opera Berkeley Chamber Opera presents Manon Lescaut by G. Puccini

Puccini’s Manon Lescaut is the brash saga of a woman caught in a web spun by the men who would possess her. The beautiful Manon may be her brother’s only hope for a life of comfort, but will Manon betray her own heart to choose wealth over love? The young composer’s lush score surges with passion and bravado. Fully staged and set in fin de siècle France, the production at the elegant but intimate Hillside Club features supertitles, chorus, and chamber orchestra. Tenor Alex Boyer is the love struck Des Grieux, with soprano Eliza O’Malley in the title role. Conducted by Jonathan Khuner and directed by Lisa Houston.
