Cappella SF presents five works written in the last twenty years by top current Swedish and American composers. Eric Whitacre’s stunningly wrenching piece was an inspiration for the 27-year old Jacob Mühlrad to write Time, co-commissioned by Cappella SF and the Swedish Radio Choir and given its world premiere by the SRC in November to great acclaim with Ragnar Bohlin conducting. David Conte’s two world premiere movements of Madrigals were inspired by his vivid memories of the sharp contrast of character that each season brings, and Fredrik Sixten emphasizes the contrasts within the search for the eternal. This program brings you from pain and loss to fulfillment and joy, in a musical experience you won’t want to miss.
