Performance October 20
The Arod Quartet is one of the leading lights of the new generation of string quartets; and is a chamber music group that has dazzled chamber music lovers.

Le Monde said that it is “no longer a question of common life but fusion of beings”. Alexandre Vu, a violinist with the quartet said that the quartet “makes it look like one person with four different instruments, from four different personalities, from different people just to make the quartet one unique instrument.”

Established in 2013, the Paris-based Arod Quartet took First Prize at the Carl Nielsen Chamber Music Competition in Copenhagen in 2015, first prize at the Munich ARD Competition in 2016. And in 2017 it was appointed “BBC New Generation Artist” for the 2017 to 2019 seasons.

You do not want to miss the concert in their upcoming performance at 2:30 pm in Faye Spanos Concert Hall, on Sunday October 20, 2019.

Their program in Stockton includes Schubert: Quartet No. 4 in C major, D. 46 Schubert; Webern: Langsamer Satz (that you can hear wonderfully on You Tube), and Zemlinsky: Quartet No. 2.

In the past few seasons, the artists have performed in the greatest concert halls in France and worldwide, including the Philharmonie de Paris, The Vienna Konzerthaus, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Oji Hall in Tokyo

The two violinists for the quartet, Jordan Victoria and Alexandre Vu are loan recipients of composite Stradivari and Guadagnini violins. They are joined in the quartet by Tanguy Parisot, viola, and Samy Rachid, cello.

The Arod Quartet will provide a rich and rewarding chamber music concert presented by Stockton’s Friends of Chamber Music. Come enjoy the concert.

Tickets are $25 and are available in the lobby of Faye Spanos Concert Hall at UOP starting at 2:00 pm, 30 minutes before the concert. Students of any age are admitted free.

The audience is invited to meet the musicians at a reception following the concert.

Friends of Chamber Music concerts are presented in cooperation with Pacific and its Conservatory of Music. For a brochure or more information about the FOCM annual series, please call 209-956-2868 or visit www.chambermusicfriends.org.
