The KSO, under Music Director Geoffrey Gallegos, presents a program of all-American music for its holiday concert. The program we begin with the rollicking and energetic Buckaroo Holiday from Copland’s ballet Rodeo. This will be followed by the world premiere of A Musician’s Life: a parable on the life and death of Robert Blanshard. Robert Blanshard was a long time member and Co-Principal bass of the KSO until his sudden death in 2018. The premiere will be conducted by composer Mark Narins and feature soprano, Paige Patrick.

After intermission, Maestro Gallegos will lead the orchestra in Second New England School composer George Chadwick’s sumptuous and tranquil Noel from his Symphonic Sketches, and the concert will come to a swinging close with Duke Ellington’s brilliant homage to Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite as arranged by Jeff Tysik.

Don’t miss this festive celebration of great American music both old and new to ring in the holiday season!
