"Cyrano de Bergerac," (premier) By Victor Herbert: A Lyric Theatre Discovery Series Production
Lyric Theatre’s Discovery Series presents the tale of the poetically philosophical hero with the overly large nose who was ugly in his own eyes only. Set by Victor Herbert to beautiful music in his lush style. While the vocal score for this show has survived since 1899, the orchestra parts, thought to be lost, were discovered in 1997. Lyric Theatre is proud to present Victor Herbert's "Cyrano De Bergerac," complete with the long-lost orchestra parts! The orchestration for this show has not been heard in over 100 years! Join us an hour before curtain for a special pre-show talk by librettist Alyce Mott.
Two performances only! July 27 8:00 PM and July 28 2:00 PM at the Santa Clara University Music Recital Hall, located on Franklin St. just off Lafayette St. in Santa Clara.
