Celebrating its 10th season, Opera Parallele, in partnership with San Francisco's legendary Hayes Street Grill during its 40th year, presents a two-night-only special event: Lee Hoiby's one-act opera Bon Appetit!, directed by OP Creative Director Brian Staufenbiel, starring mezzo-soprano Catherine Cook as culinary icon Julia Child. Guests will be transported to Julia's 1960's Hollywood studio for a live episode of The French Chef. The evening commences with cocktails and a multi-course seasonal dinner interspersed with by performances by soprano Taylor See & pianist Keisuke Nakagoshi. Following dinner, Catherine Cook as the dazzling master Chef Julia will perform Bon Appetit!, singing while she creates her classic French chocolate cake Le Gateau au Chocolat Leminence Brune which is then served to the audience as dessert.
