Presented by Redwood Symphony

Redwood Symphony will welcome back violinist Jassen Todorov as the soloist for Brahms’s beloved and iconic Violin Concerto at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 18, in the Main Theater at Cañada College.

Other highlights of the evening include a late addition, contemporary London-based composer Anna Clyne’s vibrant Masquerade, inspired by 18th-century promenade concerts held in London's gardens and commissioned by the BBC in 2013. The program will also feature Sibelius’s Symphony No. 3 in C major, which Conductor Eric K describes as a work with “a wide emotional scope in a tidy package.”

Todorov, a professor of violin at San Francisco State University, is also an acclaimed pilot and aerial photographer, whose work has been featured in National Geographic. A collection of his photos will be on display and for sale in the lobby during the concert.

A pre-concert talk will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets from $10-$35 are available at Redwood Symphony.org and at the door, and children under 18 accompanied by an adult are admitted free. Parking at Cañada College, 4200 Farm Hill Blvd., Redwood City, is free.
