San Francisco Chamber Orchestra Ring in the New Year with the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra

Ring in the New Year with the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra conducted by Maestro Simon and its triumvirate of classical masters, Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. Haydn’s overture to his 1799 opera L’isola disabitata begins the program followed by three Mozart concerts arias performed by internationally renowned soprano Christine Brandes. Ms. Brandes enjoys an active career in North America and abroad performing at many of the world’s finest orchestras and opera companies. She has recorded for EM/Virgin, BMG, Harmonia Mundi, Koch, Bridge and Dorian. After intermission, the orchestra will present Beethoven’s Triple Concerto a compositional tour de force deftly integrating not the usual single solo instrument with orchestra but three: violin, cello and piano. The Concerto is filled with virtuosity, inventiveness and memorable tunes.
