Bobby Mitchell performs Beethoven's iconic and beloved Symphony no.9 in D Minor Op.125 in the stunning arrangement for solo piano by Liszt. Through his masterful transcriptions, Liszt brought countless orchestral and operatic masterpieces into the homes of the amateur musicians and music lovers of the 19th century, making available musical experiences that would have been rare if possible at all for much of society. The original genius and inspiration of Beethoven is presented in a new light by the phenomenal power and responsibility of a solo pianist. The famous choral finale will be sung with soloists and a vocal ensemble. Don't miss this thrilling performance that anticipates Beethoven's 250th anniversary in 2020. Festival favorite Daria Rabotkina opens this special program with masterworks TBA.
